Barclays has donated branding space on the front of some of London’s ‘Boris Bikes’ to the volunteering charity CSV to celebrate its Make a Difference – Get Inspired campaign.

This is the first year that the campaign, which has been running since 1986 as a one-day event, has taken place throughout October, and aims to raise awareness of the positive impact of volunteering on local communities.

Lucy de Groot, chief executive of CSV, said: “Having our logo on the front of the iconic Barclays Cycle Hire bikes in London will be a fantastic eye-catching way in attracting attention to a very important event in the CSV calendar and shine a light on all the projects that CSV works on.”

Ashok Vaswani, CEO Barclays Retail and Business Banking, said: “Make a Difference– Get Inspired is the flagship volunteering campaign which we have supported for 13 years. It promotes and celebrates volunteering and how contributing time and skills to a variety of causes benefit the community as a whole. That’s why we’re delighted to be able to use our sponsorship of Barclays Cycle Hire to support such a valuable initiative.”
