Youth workers in England will have access to 25,000 tailor-made training and development opportunities following a £3.8m investment being launched this spring by the Children's Workforce Development Council.
The National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) will deliver the Third Sector Capacity Building project for paid and voluntary staff in nine regions across England from May.
The project is part of the Young People's Workforce Reform Programme - a set of initiatives designed to develop the skills of the six-million-strong young people's workforce.
“NCVYS will be working in partnership with the third sector to deliver a training programme that is relevant and meets the needs of frontline staff and volunteers,” said Susanne Rauprich, CEO of NCVYS.
“Young people are at the heart of what all of us do, so their participation will also be key.
“The large scale of our offering means that we will be able to reach valuable members of the workforce that have had no previous access to training. By developing a common level of skills and knowledge throughout the third sector workforce, we will achieve the best possible outcomes for those who are most in need of our support."
The scheme will be introduced at the NCVYS event Investing In Our Future on 23 March in central London.
