Parentline Plus, which recently acquired Bullying UK, has rebranded as Family Lives, its registered name with the Charity Commission.
The name change reflects its recent acquisition of Bullying UK, and its expanding remit which now includes all aspects of family life, including grandparents.
It spent under £50,000 on a new website and rebrand.
Jeremy Todd, chief executive of Family Lives said: “We believe that our registered name of Family Lives is a much closer reflection of the full range of our support services and it is right that we go back to it at this time.
“By doing things differently we will actually save more on this change than we spend. We mitigated a lot of the costs against our office move and through taking everything in house with the website, Family Lives will save well over £100k in the next financial year. The new website hasn’t cost half that; if you add the design work, we still save less than we spend. Doing things differently in these testing times is essential. Family sector needs reform – we felt we also needed to change continue to best meet the needs of families that we serve.”
Family Lives is a family support charity that works for, and with, parents, families, children and carers.
Bullying UK agreed a merger with Parentline Plus last year after the online bullying advice charity ran in to financial difficulties.
Formerly known as Bullying Online, the charity has been running for 12 years but was hit by a fall in corporate support.
