Charities feature on Sunday Times Best Companies list

Eleven charities have made it into the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list, but Christians Against Poverty has dipped from the poll position it held for the past two years.

While Christians Against Poverty has fallen to the number two position, behind IT company Sofcat, the debt advice charity still receives high praise from the paper, particularly for the leadership of its chief executive.

Of the 11 charities listed in the annual Sunday Times list, based on staff surveys, eight are newcomers. The highest debut is by Asdan, an educational charity, which comes in ranked 29th. Julia’s House hospice (18th) is the second-placed charity, followed by St Giles’ Trust, which climbs from 36th position in 2009 to 20th this year.

In addition to the 11 traditional charities, a number of housing associations also appear on the list.
