Cancer Research UK's new film explores the damaging impacts of cigarette packaging on children.

Cancer Research UK's new film explores the damaging impacts of cigarette packaging on children.

CRUK is campaigning to standardise cigarette packets to limit the impact that tobacco company branding can have on children.

The charity is urging the public to help make standard packs a reality with the launch of a social media campaign encouraging people to share the video using #packetracket.

The film points out how tobacco companies exploit local laws to recruit young smokers with striking examples from Indonesia, China, and the UK.

CRUK is keen to point out that no children were smoking in the production of this film and that the children cast illustrate the countries outlined but are all British nationals.

More information on the campaign can be found here.

Every Friday civilsociety.co.uk features an innovative or effective use of film by a charity. If you would like to draw our attention to your charity's film, or even someone else's please email [email protected]
