The British Heart Foundation’s latest television advert, which uses footage from an ultrasound of a baby who may inherit a faulty gene that can cause heart problems, premiered on TV. The charity has also produced a second film explaining more about the family involved.

It is part of the charity’s Fight For Every Heartbeat campaign which aims to highlight inherited heart conditions and raise money for research.

Narrated by the unborn child, the film highlights the difficult decision the parents had to make about whether to have a child, knowing that the faulty gene could be passed down, and the research that the charity is doing to understand the role genes play in heart disease.

Every Friday Civil Society News features an innovative or effective use of film by a charity. If you would like to draw our attention to your charity's film, or even someone else's please email [email protected]
