The National Deaf Children’s Society spearheaded its online petition, calling on the government to intervene to stop local authorities cutting services for deaf children, with this heart-swelling film last month.
The film uses a mixture of celebrity supporters and deaf children to raise awareness of the potential effects of cuts to deaf children’s services. So far it's been viewed more than 15,000 times and ‘liked’ 100 times on YouTube. The e-petition has received more than 35,000 signatures, and has had a response from the Department for Education. If it reaches 100,000 it will be eligible to be considered for debate by the Backbench Business Committee.
Every Friday civilsociety.co.uk features an innovative or effective use of film by a charity. If you would like to draw our attention to your charity's film, or even someone else's please email [email protected].
