Homelessness charity Crisis is appealing for donations to provide beds for the night for homeless people at Christmas.
Its campaign gives donors the option to fund anything from one to 100 or more beds.
It’s a difficult time of year for a person cut off from family and home. Crisis provides that all-important companionship and support to tackle loneliness and isolation – helping people to take their first steps out of homelessness.
Just £22.29 will bring a homeless person in from the cold – providing a friendly welcome from people who care, three nutritious hot meals – including a Christmas dinner, the chance to shower and change clothes, have a haircut and health check.
The sum goes further to provide expert advice on life-changing issues like housing and employment – and an introduction to Crisis’s year-round services for training and support.
The charity's campaign gives readers the option to help fund one of its Christmas centres - safe, warm and lively places in Birmingham, Coventry, Edinbugh, London and Newcastle, run by a caring army of 13,000 volunteers.
