Tim Johnson
Tim Johnson is chief executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity with responsibility for both strategic leadership and operational management of the charity, which seeks to raise at least £50m every year to help rebuild and refurbish the hospital, buy vital equipment and help fund pioneering research.
Tim joined Great Ormond Street Hospital as deputy director of the Redevelopment Appeal in February 2002, helping to establish the hospital’s first major gift fundraising team since the Wishing Well Appeal of the 1980s. In 2006 he was appointed director of major gift fundraising and took up his current role heading up the charity in 2008.
Tim has over 20 years of experience as a professional fundraiser, most of which has focused on raising major gifts from high net worth individuals, charitable trusts and corporates.
Before joining GOSHCC, Tim held head-of-fundraising positions at UCL (University College London) and CSV (Community Service Volunteers). His early days in fundraising were spent with BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers) and Mencap.
