Michael O'Toole

Chief executive, Mentor

Michael O’Toole was appointed as the government’s first Crown representative for the voluntary sector in June 2012 to improve the government’s engagement with the voluntary sector.

He is due to leave this post in the autumn of 2014 to join the charity Mentor as CEO.

He was previously the chief executive of 3SC, an organisation which manages bids and delivery consortia for large public sector contracts on behalf of civil society delivery organisations.

He is a former chief executive of education charity National Extension College and has also been development and marketing director for the outsourcing information services charity bss.

Currently he is the chairman of Home-Start, a trustee of PTA UK and has been a primary school governor.
