Mark Hallam

Director of finance, IT and training, Marine Society and Sea Cadets

Mark Hallam is a chartered accountant, and joined the Marine Society and Sea Cadets in October 2012, after nearly seven years as finance and information systems director at the RNLI.

Previously he had spent 11 years in the city, as global audit director and then UK & Ireland finance director of the Willis Group, and then as European finance director of another leading insurance broker. Prior to that, he spent 11 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and predecessor firms, working in London, Luxembourg and Bristol. He also qualified as a certified information systems auditor in 2000.

Prior to his commercial career, Mark served in the Royal Navy from 978 to 1987 as a seaman officer. On leaving regular service, he continued in the Royal Naval Reserve for a further seven years, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander.

Mark is a keen linguist and unsurprisingly, a keen sailor.
