Jill Pitkeathley

 

Baroness Pitkeathley is a lifetime Labour peer for the House of Lords, and is the former chair of Cafcass.

She has a wealth of experience in the voluntary sector. She was appointed chair for the Office of the Third Sector’s new advisory body in April 2008 and was previously chair of the New Opportunities Fund and Futurebuilders.

She became chief executive of the National Council for Carers - now Carers UK - in 1986 and was voluntary services co-ordinator for the NHS in the 1970s, as well as a being a social worker in Berkshire and Manchester. She was also a founding member of Acevo, and the president of Volunteering England.
