Alison Kelly

If you are fascinated by the political process, how organisations work, and believe good governance can improve the effectiveness of public organisations and help build public trust, Alison Kelly has the most intriguing and worthwhile job you can imagine.  She is the National Lead for Governance and Accountability at the Audit Commission and works with major public organisations developing their approach to governance.

Alison is a school governor and trustee of a voluntary organisation. She has been a senior education officer and parents’ advocate. Her long experience working with governors suggests organisations have the governors they deserve. Only when paid staff and governors work closely together can governance be effective.

She is married to the chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life.  They have interesting discussions on their walking treks across the world!
