A Dundee-based charity that supports young people living with mental health and wellbeing difficulties is closing due to financial challenges.
In a statement on its website, Feeling Strong said it ceased delivering services on 21 August, eight years after its founding in 2018.
The charity stated that it had “reached a position where we no longer have sufficient funding to continue operating”.
“It is with enormous sadness that we share that Feeling Strong is closing,” the statement reads.
“Despite the commitment of our staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and wider community, the charity has faced significant and ongoing financial pressures.”
The charity said it was “not the ending that any of us wanted” but that it was “immensely proud” of the work it achieved.
Feeling Strong is now in the process of formal insolvency and closure.
According to its OSCR listing, the charity had six members of staff and up to 50 volunteers.
Since 2023, Feeling Strong had been operating on a deficit for several years, but its annual income had risen from £104,000 in the year to March 2023 to £157,000 in 2024-25.
However, expenditures also increased in that time from £136,000 in 2022-23 to £169,000 in 2024-25, leading to the consistent deficit.
The deficit in 2024-25 was affected by a late grant payment from a funder, which was to be received on 31 March 2025, but was instead received on 2 April 2025, outside the financial year.
