Chief executives

The Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust has appointed Traci Dix-Williams as chief executive, following the retirement of former chief executive Nick Morris. 

Dix-Williams will take up her new role on 10 April 2017, joining from the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust where she is currently operations director. She has worked at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust for the best part of 20 years. 

This will be Dix-Williams’ first chief executive role in the charity sector. 

Non executive

The London Marathon Charitable Trust has announced the appointments of eight new trustees to its board, four of whom will be independent trustees and four of whom are nominated trustees. 

The four independent trustees are Dawn Austwick, chief executive of the Big Lottery Fund; Rosie Chapman, special advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Charities; Gillian McKay, head of charities and voluntary sector at the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales, and Clare Shepherd, former general counsel of Cancer Research UK. 

The nominated trustees for the charitable trust are: Lee Mason, chief executive of the County Sports Partnership Network; Donna Fraser, vice president of the UK Athletics Members Association; Robert Rigby, councillor for the Regent’s Park ward for the City of Westminster, and John Bryant, former chair of the London Marathon Charitable Trust, and current vice president of the Trust. 

London Marathon Events Ltd, the limited company events arm of the London Marathon Charitable Trust, has announced the appointment of three new directors: with Robin Geller, Arun Kang and Damien Lane all joining the organisation. 

Geller is the registrar and chief operating officer of the University of Bristol; Kang is chief executive of Sporting Equals, while Lane is a partner at investment firm Episode 1 Ventures. 

Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, has been named as the new Royal Patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, succeeding the Queen. 

The Duchess of Cornwall’s appointment was announced on 1 February 2017 at an event at the charity’s London headquarters. 

Claire Horton, chief executive of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, said: “Battersea has long considered the Duchess to be a very close and dear friend. It’s absolutely wonderful to now welcome Her Royal Highness as our new Royal Patron”.
