RSPCA, the Thai Children’s Trust, RNIB and more announce their latest appointments.

Chief executives

Jeremy Cooper has been appointed chief executive of the RSPCA. Cooper is the first full-time chief executive at the charity for over two years, after Gavin Grant left the organisation in 2014.

Cooper (pictured) has been internally promoted, having previously been the director of corporate development at the RSPCA. He was also chief executive of RSPCA Assured – the charity’s ethical food label.

He will take up his new role on 4 April.

The Thai Children’s Trust has appointed Adrian Hatch as chief executive.

He joins the charity from the International Refugee Trust, where he was chief executive for over nine years.

Fundraising and communications

Alex McDowell has joined the RNIB as its group head of community development and growth.

This is a newly created role within a wider group of charities which includes RNIB, Action for Blind People and the Cardiff Institute for the Blind.  

He joins from the NSPCC where he was head of legacy and tribute fundraising. He is also the current chair of Remember a Charity.

Non-executives

Richard Hawkes has been appointed chair of the Motivation Charitable Trust, a registered disabled services and wheelchair charity.

Hawkes is currently the chief executive of the British Asian Trust. He takes over the Motivation role from Sinclair Beecham, who served as interim chair.

Cancer Research UK has announced the appointment of Alexander Eggermont to its trustee board.

Eggermont is director general of the Institut Gustave Roussy Cancer Center in Paris and is president of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences.

He is also professor of oncology at the Paris-Sud University.
