Islamic Relief Worldwide and Recovery Focus announce their latest appointments.

Chief executive

Naser Haghamed has been appointed as the chief executive of Islamic Relief Worldwide.

Haghamed (pictured), who took up his new role last week, replaces Dr Mohamed Ashmawey who left the organisation at the end of 2015.

Haghamed has worked at the organisation in a number of different capacities for over 20 years.

His first order of business as chief executive was representing Islamic Relief at the official signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change in New York last week.

Bryn Parry has announced that he will step down from his role as chief executive at Help for Heroes at the end of the year. 

Parry is also the co-founder of the charity, alongside his wife Emma Parry who will also be stepping down from her role with the organisation. 

H4H will be looking to appoint a successor for Parry by the end of the year. 

Fundraising and communications

Adrian Cockle, former digital innovation manager at WWF International, has moved into digital strategy consultancy.

Prior to his move into consultancy, Cockle worked for both WWF International and WWF UK, where he was previously head of online.

Non executive

Recovery Focus has appointed Helen Edwards as chair of its board of trustees. Edwards is replacing former chair Peter Corley who has come to the end of his term in the office.

Edwards is a trustee of the Lloyds Bank Foundation and is a non executive director at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

Recovery Focus is a new national group of charities providing a range of mental health and substance use support services across England.
