The Trust Partnership is releasing a new publication called How to choose your investment manager, which has been made available free to all charities.

The booklet has been produced to help trustees through the intimidating and confusing process of reviewing their investments and investment policy.

In its role as administrator, the Trust Partnership is often asked to help their clients through this process.

How to choose your investment manager explains what steps need to be taken, the duties of the trustees, the treatment of risk and ethics, what needs to be done and what help is available. It also helps trustees with the questions they should ask and how to interpret the answers.

“Our aim is to help charitable trusts to be efficient, effective and economic,” says Alex Kininmonth, author of the guide. “And of course the level of available funds is the key driver in every area.

"We can’t guarantee the trustees will find extraordinary returns, but we hope that they will sleep easily knowing they that they have done all they reasonably can to ensure that the funds in their charge are properly and rightly invested.”

The Trust Partnership, created in 2005, manages charitable trusts, providing outsourced administration, accounting compliance, governance and grant management programs as well as supporting strategic and investment management reviews and other consultancy.
