Ten-year-old Dylan Ward from Washington, Tyne and Wear, has been voted Britain’s Kindest Kid in the third annual competition launched by the Charities Aid Foundation and Five News.

Ten-year-old Dylan Ward from Washington, Tyne and Wear, has been voted Britain’s Kindest Kid in the third annual competition launched by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and Five News.

Presenter Natasha Kaplinsky launched this year’s competition in August calling for the public to nominate children who have shown real kindness for a cause.

Dylan’s mission to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research by painting and selling over 70 pictures secured him the winners spot, chosen by Five News viewers.

Dylan was inspired to fundraise by the care given to his grandfather towards the end of his life by Macmillan nurses.

He was presented with a trophy by Five News and received £1,000 in pocket money as well as a further £1,000 of CAF vouchers to donate to the charity of his choice.
