This year’s Autumn Statement saw Libor funds directed to military and ‘other charitable causes’ - and tampon taxes go to women’s charities, via Comic Relief. But it was a largely uninspiring statement in terms of wider charitable commitments… until in a rabbit out of the hat moment, the Autumn Statement itself was abolished altogether.
