The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association will increase the number of mystery shoppers and patrols of street fundraising as it looks to expand its team.

The organisation is recruiting for the newly-created position of a quality and compliance assistant who will work alongside head of standards Nick Henry. Since Henry’s own appointment in April last year the number of mystery shops per month has already doubled.

The new team member will mean that new areas of the country will be subject to spot checks, while London teams will likely be subject to more monitoring.

Mark Carter-Nesbitt, managing director of Urban Leaf and PFRA personnel sub-committee member, called the appointment “a natural progression in our expanding professional standards role”.
