Stephen Sutton recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours

Dr Helen Mary Stephenson, director of the Office for Civil Society and Stephen Sutton, who raised over £4m for the Teenage Cancer Trust, have been recognised in The Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Dr Helen Mary Stephenson, director of the Office for Civil Society and Stephen Sutton, who raised over £4m for the Teenage Cancer Trust, have been recognised in The Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Stephen Sutton was awarded an MBE for his services to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Stephen who died in May had accepted the proposed award before he passed away.

Dr Michael Dixon, director of the Natural History Museum was awarded a knighthood for his services to museums.

Christopher Hohn of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation and Brendan Gormley, former chief executive of the Disasters Emergency Committee, were awarded KCMGs for their charity work.

Dr Helen Mary Stephenson, director of the Office for Civil Society, was awarded an OBE for her services to civil society.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was made an honorary dame for her humanitarian work.

In total, 1,149 people received an award, many for their services to philanthropy and charity.
