Share first Disney memories on Facebook to raise £1m for GOSH

Disney Junior and Great Ormond Street children's hospital have launched a new campaign asking people to share their first Disney memory on Facebook to help raise £1m for the charity.

Disney Junior and Great Ormond Street children's hospital have launched a new campaign asking people to share their first Disney memory on Facebook to help raise £1m for the charity.

So far more than 3,500 first memories have been shared and when one million have been posted on the Facebook page, Disney will donate £1m to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Disney partnered with GOSH in January 2008, committing to raise £10m to help fund the redevelopment of the hospital but Disney has helped GOSH for over 70 years, with Walt Disney himself visiting the hospital in 1939.

The partners are relying on word-of-mouth and the power of social media to reach the latest £1m target as fast as possible in order to help build a new medical centre at the hospital and fund an interactive play area.

Celebrity supporters of the campaign include Edith Bowman, Angela Griffin and Jodie Prenger, and videos of them sharing their memories are available on the Disney Junior website.
