Rowena Lewis is to join single parents’ charity Gingerbread as director of fundraising.

Lewis has just published a comprehensive report on the status of women leaders in the voluntary sector, the culmination of her project as a Clore Social Fellow.  She was one of the inaugural intake of Clore Fellows, in 2010, and her report, Close to Parity: Challenging the voluntary sector to smash the glass ceiling, was launched at an event at Bates Wells and Braithwaite last week.

While she was doing her Clore research, Lewis also worked on a consultancy basis as project lead for the Philanthropy Review chaired by Marie Curie Cancer Care CEO Thomas Hughes-Hallett.

Her last permanent job was as director of fundraising and development for the Fawcett Society.  She began her fundraising career as a street fundraiser in 2001.

At Gingerbread, she succeeds Mark Davies.
