Resource Alliance chief executive Neelam Makhijani is to step down from her post in order to concentrate on her family.

Resource Alliance chief executive Neelam Makhijani is to step down from her post in order to concentrate on her family.

Makhijani will remain in post until May during which time the Resource Alliance board will recruit for her replacement. She has been  and is stepping down in order to care for her ill mother in Delhi.

During her time as chief executive, Resource Alliance has paid . The organisation, which runs the annual International Fundraising Congress in the Netherlands, also began running consultancy services and an online fundraising conference.

On announcing her leave, Makhijani said she had mixed emotions but praised the organisation. “The Resource Alliance is a brilliant organisation whose work reaches every corner of the globe. I know that everyone who works with us – be them a member of staff or a speaker at one of our events – will continue to strive to strengthen the sustainability of civil society around the world,” she said.

Resource Alliance chair Jan Krol thanked Makhijani for her service to the organisation. He said: “She has been instrumental in extending the reach of the Resource Alliance as well as strengthening our foundations for long-term future development.”

Makhijani has worked for the Resource Alliance for a decade.
