RNIB has appointed Rohan Hewavisenti to the role of group director of resources from April 2015.

Hewavisenti has been director of finance and business development at the British Red Cross since 2008. He will take over from Keith Hickey who is retiring. 

He has more than 15 years’ experience in the sector and was previously director of finance and resources at Breast Cancer Care.

Hewavisenti said: “I’m excited to join RNIB, an organisation I’ve admired for some time for its impressive work supporting blind and partially-sighted people. I look forward to working with Lesley-Anne and the senior team during a period of growth within the organisation.”
 
Lesley-Anne Alexander, chief executive of RNIB, said: “Rohan’s financial, pensions and leadership experience across the sector will be a huge asset as we look to deliver our strategy to make every day better for everyone affected by sight loss.”

Hickey has held the role for the last five years. He will continue as a trustee of Livability.
