Mango has launched an updated version of its free e-guide for charities delivering emergency aid, which aims to help them manage their finances.

The revised best practice guide contains new content and several improved features including simpler search and navigation tools.

Mango intends the guide to give practical advice which organisations can follow when faced with stressful and difficult conditions.

The charity, which works to strengthen financial management and accountability within international development organisations and NGOs, received financial support from Barclays Bank plc to produce the revised guide.

Mango said that hundreds of millions of pounds were being handled by aid agencies around the world and according to a report by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) these large sums are difficult to manage.

In the last five years, NGO staff in 194 countries downloaded over 400,000 documents from the guide.
