David McCullough, trading director of Oxfam is to join WRVS in October as its new chief executive.
He will succeed Lynne Berry who is to leave the charity after four years at the helm.
McCullough has a varied background, with roles in high street retail, including Next and Littlewoods. He has also held director positions in banking, credit card and IT companies.
He joined Oxfam in 2006 as trading director, having responsibility for Oxfam’s 750 shops.
Ruth Markland, chairman of WRVS said: “I am delighted to confirm that David McCullough will be our next chief executive. David’s experience equips him well to lead ambitious plans for WRVS – particularly in the areas of culture change, expansion and volunteer-led service –and we look forward to him joining us in October.”
