Oxfam has launched the first online wedding shop, offering a range of dresses and accessories.
Brides to be will be able to choose from unworn designer dresses which have been donated by bridal shops, vintage and second hand dresses as well as bridesmaids’ outfits and accessories including a special ethical silver jewellery line.
The online wedding shop has also teamed up with wedding expert and author of ‘Confessions of a Wedding Planner’, Tamryn Kirby, to offer money saving tips and advice.
Tamryn said: “Not only can you find a completely unique dress or gift list that will make a wedding stand out but you’ll be making a difference to someone else’s life at the same time.”
Ethical gift list
Couples planning to wed can also set up an Oxfam Unwrapped wedding list with gifts including a couple of goats, packets of seeds and classroom kits for communities in developing countries.
Oxfam Unwrapped started offering wedding lists in 2007 and so far the scheme has raised nearly £1m.
Rick Lay, Oxfam Unwrapped manager said: “The Oxfam Unwrapped wedding list makes it so easy to add something different to the big day and it can be chosen in addition to a traditional store list.
“Maybe even William and Kate will have a look at the endless possibilities on offer on the new shop page and start a personalised Oxfam Unwrapped list.”
