Oxfam has launched a new mass-participation event – Dressed by the Kids Day – which will take place on Friday 29 April.
The charity is urging people to allow the children in their lives to dress them for the day and encourage friends and family to sponsor them by text.
When people sign up they will be given a unique text code donation code that people can use to sponsor them.
Oxfam will be promoting the campaign across its social media channels using #DressedByTheKids.
People will be able to sign up online from 21 March.
Tim Hunter, head of fundraising for Oxfam, said: “Transform your look and transform lives. That’s Oxfam’s offer to families with our first-ever ‘Dressed by the Kids Day’ on April 29th. Have fun and help raise £500,000 for Oxfam.”
Celebrities who have endorsed the campaign include Eastenders’ Nina Wadia (pictured), DJ and presenter Sara Cox and actor Stephen Mangan.
