Fundraising Initiatives is setting up a new street fundraising agency which aims to take targeting prospective donors further than ever.

The company, which works in door-to-door and private site fundraising, is making its first move into street fundraising with the launch of Person to Person Direct (P2P), and has signed up World Vision UK as its inaugural client. World Vision will be using the street teams to sign up child sponsors with a monthly gift of £22.80, significantly above the average direct debit gift.

Fundraising Initiatives claims that the new agency, which will train and recruit teams directly and house them within charity clients, is offering a hitherto unprecedented level of demographic targeting on the street and will work to drive up standards.

Rich Mullins, managing director of P2P, said: “Amid widespread scrutiny from government, media and the public there is an urgent need to demonstrate how standards in face-to-face street fundraising can be built upon and improved.”

Earlier this year,  the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association revealed that , but also admitted its monitoring suggested that in recent years.

Such is the demand for face-to-face fundraising by charities, despite occasional media scandals, that many charities report difficulties in booking agencies, particularly for smaller campaigns.
