The Fundraising Standards Board has appointed Colin Wilby and Andrew Nebel as two new lay members on its board, it announced today.
The FRSB is the independent voluntary regulator for fundraisers, and deals with public complaints about fundraisers' conduct. Its board is the highest level of appeal
The two men were appointed to the FRSB Board in place of Zoe Willems and Roy Thompson, who stepped down at the previous Board meeting, in December 2014, having completed the maximum three terms on the board.
Nebel (pictured) previously represented the Institute of Fundraising on the FRSB Board from 2007 to 2009. He is formerly Barnardo’s UK director of marketing and communications and now serves in a number of senior roles and directorships in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Wilby formerly held senior positions in companies such as Lucas Industries and Nestle, and now holds roles on a number of adjudication boards including employment tribunals, bar disciplinary tribunals, the Financial Reporting Council tribunals and the HS2 Ltd Need to Sell property compensation scheme.
“The FRSB board has a critical role to play in directing the organisation as a whole and adjudicating public complaints,” said Colin Lloyd, Chair of the FRSB. “Both Zoe Willems and Roy Thompson were tremendous assets to the FRSB and we benefited from their contributions throughout their term.
“Colin Wilby and Andrew Nebel both bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will strengthen our board immeasurably.”
