NCVO’s director of policy Liz Atkins (pictured) has been made redundant following a restructure which saw the organisation’s four departments reduced to three.

The previous departments were called services and development, planning and resources, public policy and enterprise. The new departments are planning and resources, capacity building and business development, and communications.  Policy has been merged into the comms directorate.

All affected directors were invited to apply for the new posts, and all did. Liz Atkins was unsuccessful and therefore was made redundant.

Deputy chief executive Ben Kernighan has also become director of communications; Richard Williams is director of capacity building and business development, and Lynne Gregory and Sarah Welsh share the planning and resources director position.

The restructuring happened around six weeks ago and there were no other job cuts.
