Friends and colleagues of the late fundraising veteran Redmond Mullin have launched a memorial fundraising appeal to enable the Institute of Fundraising to launch something “new and bold” in his honour.
Redmond, a founder of the Institute of Fundraising and former director of Charities Aid Foundation, died last year aged 70.
Former NSPCC fundraising director Giles Pegram, Cards for Good Causes founder Judith Rich and fundraising consultant Sandi Wilson are behind the appeal. They said: “We are making a collection to enable the Institute to introduce something new and bold which Redmond would have loved.” They will also produce a plaque on which will go the names of everyone who gives £25 or over, to be mounted in the Institute’s London office reception area.
Mullin worked as a consultant to major organisations in all fields of civil society activity in the UK. In particular, he was instrumental in the NSPCC’s Centenary Appeal, and its Full Stop Appeal and the Northern Ireland Voluntary Trust.
He was formerly director of the Charities Aid Foundation and subsequently chaired his own consultancy. He was one of the founders of the Institute of Fundraising Managers which later became the Institute of Fundraising.
The names of all contributors over £25 will be inscribed on the plaque. Donors should contact Judith Rich at [email protected].
