Former chief executive of the NHS in Scotland, Sir Don Cruickshank, is to be the new chairman of Marie Curie Cancer Care. He will take over from Sir Peter Davis later in the year.
Sir Don (pictured), who also chaired Wandsworth Health Authority as well as having a successful business career, said: “I am delighted to be joining the charity. Marie Curie provides a remarkable free service to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses, along with much-needed support for their families. There is still a great deal to do and I am relishing the prospect of building on the successes achieved by Sir Peter and his team.”
