Institute of Fundraising members are being given the opportunity to set standards for the fundraising profession by joining the body's Standards Committee.

Up to eight positions are available on the Committee which sets and develops the Institute's Codes of Fundraising.

Successful candidates will join current members including chair Stephen Pidgeon of Tangible, Andrew Taylor of Sue Ryder Care, Tanya Steele of Save the Children and the Institute's own Louise Richards.

Reporting to the Institute's trustees, Committee members meet at least four times per year for an initial three year term.

Pidgeon says: “The strength of our Standards Committee is its mix of senior fundraisers from different sized charities, with some consultants. In order to ensure we can continue to define the best standards critical to effective fundraising, we are looking for new committee members to join us. It's a hard-working committee but a lot of fun.

“Those interested in taking part will have the opportunity to chair specific working parties. The experience is a great benefit to a fundraiser’s professional development and boost to your CV, giving you a sector wide perspective on current issues and trends.”

Those wishing to apply must email [email protected] for the attention of IoF's policy manager, Sarah Tirrell, by 21 July.
