Amanda McLean has been appointed to take over from Lindsay Boswell as chief executive of the Institute of Fundraising.
McLean will take up the post in November, after Boswell leaves the organisation at the end of this month.
She joins after a two-year stint as chief executive of Prostate UK, which followed two years as director of fundraising and communications at DebRA UK.
Paul Amadi, chair of the Institute, said that with the sector facing tough times ahead, “we believe Amanda is the right person to provide leadership and direction to the Institute and its membership".
McLean said: “This role will be an exciting challenge for me. I am very much looking forward to beginning work at the Institute and making a positive impact on fundraising across the UK.”
Institute chief operating officer Bruce Leeke will be overseeing the running of the Institute in between McLean and Boswell holding the position.
