Charity finance professionals are working longer hours though average salaries are rising slightly, according to CFDG’s latest pay survey.
Results from 362 respondents showed that 85 per cent work longer than their contracted hours and the proportion rating their work-life balance as ‘excellent’ has fallen from 44 per cent to 13 per cent.
However, about three-quarters still rate their work-life balance as excellent or good.
Average FD salary of £63,000
The average annual basic salary for a finance director, across charities of all sizes, was £63,000.
Average salary levels have generally increased since 2010 and there is evidence that the gap between salaries offered by medium and large organisations is decreasing.
Job satisfaction levels are relatively high amongst respondents, with over eight in ten reporting that they are very or fairly satisfied with their current job.
Just one in ten organisations expect their recruitment activity to increase this year.
