Help for Heroes and Debenhams announce charity partnership

25 Feb 2014 News

Help for Heroes and Debenhams have announced a corporate partnership which aims to raise at least £75,000 in its first month.

Help for Heroes and Debenhams have announced a corporate partnership which aims to raise at least £75,000 in its first month.

Help for Heroes will become the third charity supported by the Debenhams Foundation, which launched in 2012. Its other partners are Children in Need and Think Pink, Debenhams' breast cancer initiative.

The partnership will launch on Saturday 1 March with a national fundraising weekend in stores. Debenhams said it will dedicate the whole of the first month of the partnership to fundraising for Help for Heroes, and will also launch a range of sweatshirts and T-shirts carrying the Help for Heroes logo. It will donate all profits from the range to the charity.

The partnership will last “for the foreseeable future”, a Debenhams spokeswoman said. She said that Help for Heroes would receive a third of everything raised by the Foundation, which was more than £1m in its first year.

“Help for Heroes is hugely grateful to Debenhams for the amazing support it is giving us,” said Bryn Parry, founder and chief executive of the charity. “What really makes the contribution stand out is the range of support provided; from allowing us to run a national collection weekend at stores, to developing a range of clothing.”
