People who use an iPhone as their morning wake-up call can now donate to charity every time they hit the snooze button with a new app developed in America.

The Snooze charity alarm app has been developed by Let Give and is the first app to use its new platform which enables charitable giving to be added to apps.

Users download the app, set up an account and pick a charity, the app then tracks how many times the snooze button is used.

Each snooze pledges 25 cents to the user's chosen charity and at the end of the month users are asked to confirm how much they wish to donate to their charity.

At the moment the app only supports non-profit organisations in the US and Canada but can be used outside of the US to donate to these organisations.

The good news for UK charities (maybe not so good for those of us who like a lie in) is that Let Give hopes to add support for European charities in spring 2012.
