The publication of a book by Camila Batmanghelidjh, which has promised to give her side of events, has been pushed back again.
The book was initially scheduled for publication in October last year. It was then moved to November before being delayed again to this month.
The publication date is now late June – a year after it was originally announced.
A spokeswoman for the publishers, Biteback, said: “The book has simply slipped a little behind in the editing process – given the current affairs bent of our particular publishing house this is actually not an unusual situation.”
The book is being co-written by the journalist Tim Rayment and promises to explore the “charity’s founding vision”, share the findings from the work done by Kids Company, and set out a model for how children’s services should be delivered.
Batmanghelidjh has indicated that her proceeds from the book will be donated to the food bank which is supporting former Kids Company service users.
The Insolvency Service is still investigating the collapse of the charity and the Charity Commission’s statutory inquiry is ongoing.
