A new online giving website enables charities and individual fundraisers to stream live video of an event to potential donors.

Save Patches was launched two weeks ago and so far 11 charities have signed up to the service, including Afghanaid, Mercy Corps and the Rett Syndrome Research Trust.

Registration with the site is free for charities, fundraisers and donors although Save Patches take a 10 per cent fee before the donation is passed on to the charity or fundraiser.

Individual fundraisers can choose to fundraise for any charity signed up to the site with the money going to directly to that charity or they can fundraise for anything else and have donations paid to them.

When donations are going directly to one of the site’s registered charities a logo explaining this will be displayed on the broadcast.

Zach Fisher, founder of Save Patches said: “The possibilities for fundraising are endless.”
