The Funding Commission, set up by the NCVO a year ago to examine ways of transforming the funding climate for civil society organisations, is not expecting to publish its final report for several more months.

According to a spokeswoman from the NCVO, the Commission’s remit has expanded as its work has progressed, and is now much broader than initially anticipated. As a result, the Commission is now expecting to report its findings in the summer, instead of February as originally planned.

However, the next two or three months will see the publication of draft working papers on topics including giving, financial resilience and relationships with business, which will be circulated to the sector for comments.

The Commission was created a year ago with former Bank of England deputy governor Rachel Lomax (pictured) at its helm.
