The ex-counter fraud leader at Oxfam UK is to stand trial next year accused of stealing more than £60,000 from the charity.

Edward McKenzie-Green is accused of fraud by abuse of position and theft by an employee. It is alleged that he siphoned £62,857.58 of charity funds between February and December 2011, and also stole a laptop.

Green, of Glasgow, appeared at London’s Old Bailey on Friday alongside his father, also Edward Green. The older Green is accused of transferring criminal property between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012, specifically laundering £35,571.75 of the proceeds of his son’s fraud.

Both men deny the charges, and face trial on 10 March 2014.
