Footballers to model latest trends at Fashion Kicks event for Macmillan

Manchester City and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, Shay Given has announced plans for the fifth Fashion Kicks fundraising event which raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support. 

Manchester City and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, Shay Given has announced plans for the fifth Fashion Kicks fundraising event which raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and is hoping to bring the grand total to more than £1m.

Since the first event in 2004 more than £900,000 has been raised and at 2010’s event - the first to be held in Manchester, a total of £212,000 was raised - £143,000 from ticket sales and the rest from donations.

The event takes place on 12 May at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s conference centre and the money raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, Beechwood Cancer Care Centre and the Adopt a School project.

Many celebrities from the world of football and fashion are expected to attend including Given’s Manchester City teammates who will also take part in fashion show modelling Selfridges spring/summer collections.

Given said: “My wife Jane and I are extremely proud to be able to support the outstanding work of the special charities involved, all of which make a real difference to the lives of so many people every day.”

Tickets are £120 per person, £1,250 for a silver table, £1,500 for a gold table and £5,000 for a platinum table.
