Development charity Excellent Development has rebranded as Excellent.

An Excellent spokeswoman said the new name reflected a broader strategy. She added that many supporters had said the former name was not memorable.

Branding agency WPA Pinfold, who has a corporate partnership with Excellent, did the rebranding pro-bono for the charity.

In 2008 Excellent was the overall winner at the Charity Awards.
