The DEC Pakistan Flood Appeal has reached £24m following the biggest single day of donations since the appeal was launched.

The DEC Pakistan Flood Appeal has reached £24m following the biggest single day of donations since the appeal was launched.

The appeal total has been typically increasing slowly, but since yesterday a further £5m has been donated to the victims of the country-wide flooding.

While the total and the pace of giving remains significantly less than the DEC’s other appeal this year, for Haiti, DEC chief executive Brendan Gormley said that public generosity was “staggering” and “extraordinary”.

The announcement of the new total coincides with today being the World Humanitarian Day.
