HMRC has confirmed that its formal consultation on implementing the EU cost-sharing exemption on VAT and shared services, will be launched this autumn.

The consultation, which was announced in the June emergency Budget, will seeks views on whether the charging of VAT on sharing services prevents charities from doing so, and how the situation might be improved.

The timetable was outlined in a new list published by HMRC of planned tax consultations.
