Christian charity Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) has been named as the best not-for-profit organisation to work for in the UK, according to the Sunday Times.

The newspaper announced its ‘100 best not-for-profit organisations to work for’ list at an event on Wednesday.

TLG, a Christian charity based in Bradford that offers support to struggling children and families, topped the list.

London-based education charity The Brilliant Club came second, while housing developer Stockport Homes Group came third.

The ranking system is decided by survey responses to a number of questions, regarding how employees feel about their organisation’s leadership teams, their own scope for personal growth within the organisation, their pay and benefits and how their organisation looks after their health and wellbeing.

The not-for-profit category includes public sector bodies, charities and housing associations. Other charities on the list include Dove House Hospice, at number five, and the National Trust, at 19th place.

Speaking at The Sunday Times' Top 100 gala awards night on Wednesday, Tim Morfin, the charity’s chief executive, said: "It's an incredible honour to top the list of the best charity employers in the UK. God's blessed us with great people and I'm so grateful for everyone playing their part - for the churches, the staff and volunteers who are serving struggling children nationwide.”

This is the 19th edition of The Sunday Times’s best 100 not-for-profit organisations to work for list.
