The National Children’s Bureau has announced this week that Play Matters will join the National Children’s Bureau charity group, with help from £198,000 in funding from the government’s £107m Transition Fund.
Sir Paul Ennals, the National Children’s Bureau chief executive, said: “Play Matters has played a vital role over many years in supporting the toy library movement to reach many more children and poor families, especially disadvantaged children and families.
“With the support of this grant, we will seek to ensure that toy libraries are well supported in the years ahead, and that the legacy and the learning from Play Matters and its staff is properly honoured, as ell as continuing our work to improve the lives all children and young people.”
